In case you’ve been living under a rock (or are just a highly irresponsible daughter, such as myself), you’re probably aware that Mother’s Day will be observed here in the States this Sunday. Brunch plans are being made, flowers are being ordered, and it’s a perfect time to stop and think about, not just the mother in your own life, but the mom’s portrayed on film that have come to exemplify the most staggeringly difficult/critically important/woefully thankless of all jobs in human existence: motherhood.
