Carley, Jill, and I have decided to start a new feature here at The Retro Set:  “The Retro Set Minutes.”  What you can expect to find here is a daily curated collection of film related links we think that you’ll dig.

So, without further ado, our debut column!

Have you ever wanted a Christopher Walken coffee?  How about an art print of Peter Lorre dressed like an astronaut?  Or a Chuck Barris plate?  Check out this Etsy page to complete your character actor dining set!

A few months ago, I published a visual essay on Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining (1980).  Today, our friends over at Press Play have started a series on horror movies with another look at Kubrick’s masterpiece.

Barnes and Noble has started their semi-annual Criterion Collection sale.  All DVDs and Blu-Rays are 50% off.  We’ve already gone hog wild ourselves.  What are you picking up? Share your selections in the comments (my votes go for Night of the HunterBadlands, and The Life and Death of Col. Blimp!).

Formed out of a union of former A.V. Club writers and the music magazine Pitchfork, the impressive movie news and reviews site The Dissolve launched yesterday.  Good luck to you all!  We love what you’re doing so far!

Finally, the redband trailer for Spike Lee’s remake of Oldboy (2013) has hit the web.  As the great M.C. once said, “Hammer Time!”
